Qatar Charity (QC) has won the Rawda Award for Excellence in Social Work in its first edition, receiving the Shield of Perfection in the Non‑Profit Organizations Category for its initiative “Generational Impact Makers Challenge.”
The award recognizes the initiative’s role in strengthening humanitarian values and social responsibility among school students in Qatar through innovative, interactive activities that translate awareness into practical action.
The award was presented to Mr. Yousuf bin Ahmed Al‑Kuwari, Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Charity, by His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, during the official ceremony held under His Highness’s patronage. The event was attended by Her Excellency Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi, Minister of Social Development and Family, along with several officials and stakeholders in the social sector.
Redoubled Responsibility
Her Excellency Ms. Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi, Minister of Social Development and Family, congratulated the award recipients, stating that this honor is not the end of the road, but rather a redoubled responsibility. She said that their winning today is a testament to their excellence, but it is also a national commitment to continue the journey with the same determination and sincerity. The society that trusted them today expects from them tomorrow innovations and initiatives that are deeper in impact and wider in scope. True giving is that which knows no limits, and excellence is that which is born from the continuity of benefit.
National Recognition
For his part, Mr. Yousuf bin Ahmed Al‑Kuwari, Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Charity, expressed the organization’s pride in winning the Rawda Award for Excellence in Social Work, in its first edition, for the “Generational Impact Makers Challenge.” He said the recognition represents a national acknowledgment of Qatar Charity’s journey in social work and reflects its sustained efforts to promote values of sustainable giving and community innovation.
He added that the award provides a strong incentive for Qatar Charity to continue developing community initiatives that serve the local community and strengthen national partnerships, in line with Qatar National Vision 2030. Al‑Kuwari noted that the initiative succeeded in instilling humanitarian values and social responsibility among school students and translating them into practical action. He stated that the wide participation of schools demonstrates how charitable work can become a collective educational experience that builds aware generations capable of making a positive impact in the community.
About the Rawda Award
Overview
Established under Amiri Decision No. (16) of 2025, the Rawda Award for Excellence in Social Work is the first national award of its kind in Qatar. It aims to recognize individuals, institutions, and sustainable community initiatives across five main categories within a structured institutional framework overseen by the Ministry of Social Development and Family (MSDF).
Target Categories
The award covers five main categories: Individuals, Families, Non‑Profit Organizations, the Private Sector, and Media.
Award Levels
The award comprises three tiers: Rawda Award, Shield of Perfection in Social Work, and Certificate of Appreciation.
Objective
The award aims to advance the social work ecosystem, strengthen social responsibility in line with Qatar National Vision 2030, foster a culture of volunteerism and charitable work, and encourage innovation in initiatives that deliver meaningful and lasting benefit to Qatari society.
Supervision
The Board of Trustees is chaired by Her Excellency Ms. Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi, Minister of Social Development and Family.

About the “Generational Impact Makers Challenge”
The “Generational Impact Makers Challenge” is a community-based volunteer initiative launched by Qatar Charity to instill the values of humanitarian action and social responsibility among school students.
Objectives of the Initiative
- Promote humanitarian values and positive behaviors among school students
- Raise awareness of humanitarian causes and the importance of social responsibility through innovative, interactive activities
- Encourage schools—students, teachers, and administrative staff alike—to contribute to charitable giving, no matter how small
- Foster a spirit of collective charitable work and promote healthy competition in fundraising

- Primary, preparatory, and secondary school students (boys and girls)
- Schools teaching and administrative staff
- Parents
Qatar Charity’s Partners in the Initiative:
The initiative was implemented in cooperation and partnership with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education
Duration
Approximately 7 months, from October 2024 to April 2025
Engagement
The initiative witnessed strong engagement, with 90 schools across Qatar taking part, successfully achieving its main goal of funding the construction of a school
Key Outcomes
- Successfully achieved the initiative’s main objective of securing funding for the construction of a school valued at QAR 2.5 million
- Organized over 60 cultural, sports, and artistic events in support of the initiative
- Laid the foundation stone for the construction of a school in Tugje Village in Albania in December 2025, in the presence of students from the winning school, Al Bayan First Primary School and Kindergarten
