Social housing centers built by Qatar Charity give low-income families, orphans and widows safe homes alongside schools, health centers and wells.

As a cornerstone of its development mandate, Qatar Charity delivers multi-service centers and social housing projects in underserved communities. These initiatives provide safe and appropriate housing for low-income families, orphans and widows, fostering stability and enabling beneficiaries to live with dignity. Collectively, the projects reinforce social cohesion and contribute to sustainable development and social justice.

The centers adopt an integrated service model, combining social housing with essential community infrastructure, including schools, health centers and wells. Selected projects also feature vocational training institutes, creating a comprehensive environment that responds to residents’ basic needs and supports lasting improvements in their living conditions.

2025 at a glance: Qatar Charity completed 286 social housing units, reaching 33,688 beneficiaries, at a cost exceeding QAR 46 million. During the same period, it completed 29 multi-service centers benefiting 400,8345 people, with a combined value of more than QAR 43 million.

Social Housing Centers in Chad: Integrated Communities

In January 2025, Qatar Charity delivered 107 homes across three residential complexes in Chad. Designed and constructed in accordance with quality, security and safety standards, each complex incorporates service facilities tailored to the needs of surrounding communities. The three sites are located at varying distances from the capital, N’Djamena.

  • Hamidi, 35 km from N’Djamena: 57 social housing units and a deep well with a solar-powered water tank.
  • Goz Al-Tijaniya, 22 km from N’Djamena: 40 social housing units, a well with a solar-powered water tank, a mosque, a Qur’an memorization center and a health center.
  • Lina, 8 km from N’Djamena: 10 social housing units, a deep well with a solar-powered water tank and a mosque.

Beyond providing housing, the complexes generated employment opportunities by engaging a substantial number of workers from nearby communities. The projects also contributed to the establishment of a traditional market serving surrounding villages, further supporting local livelihoods and improving residents’ living conditions.

Prior to the completion of these projects, Qatar Charity’s office in Chad had delivered 78 social housing units, bringing the cumulative total to 185 units by the beginning of 2025. Construction is continuing with an additional 212 social housing units.

Mali: A Multi-Service Centre Beside Social Housing Centers

In 2025, Qatar Charity inaugurated an integrated multi-service center in Welsi Bogo, in Mali’s Koulikoro Region. The facility comprises a school, a clinic, a mosque, a deep solar-powered well and a dedicated space enabling women to produce and market handicrafts. Designed to serve 1,500 people, the center was officially opened in the presence of Mali’s Minister for the Promotion of Women, Children and the Family.
